Yelp Names Joliza’s Best Burrito in California
It’s been hectic, it’s been exhausting.. but it has definitely also been an exciting time for us since Yelp named us best burrito in California.
Yelp naming us best burrito in California was something that was unexpected and is an great honor for us! We are very grateful and thankful for the coverage and are ecstatic to have many new people try our food, especially the burrito. After receiving news of this ranking late Thursday, we have been non-stop busy ever since. And as a small family run business with a small staff, we were definitely overwhelmed. In our effort to better serve all customers and to reduce the chaos, we had to pause all online and delivery orders (*note* we stopped taking phone orders last year due to an increased call-in and no shows, which is another matter altogether!). But we were so busy that we couldn’t answer the phone at all.
We want to apologize to you, our friends and customer: if you ordered online and were left hanging with no response and eventually the order was rejected; to those who phoned us and we were unable to answer to provide critical information on our store; to those who came, near or far, and were turned away because we were sold out of particular food items.
We’re taking steps to make sure we don’t sell out and that we can feed as many people as possible and as quickly as possible, which is why we decided to:
- Close today (4/6) to prep for the days ahead and change our operating hours temporarily.
- Starting Thursday (4/7) thru to (4/16), our hours will be from 10a-7p.
- Online delivery (via DoorDash, GrubHub, & UberEats) will still be paused for the rest of the week. We will reevaluate and update y’all if we are able to un-pause it. For the moment, we are only taking walk in-orders (sorry for the inconvenience!).
We are thankful for our customers (new and old), and without your continued support, we couldn’t have, nor wouldn’t have been here today. Thank you!!! And we are honored and humbled by this ranking, being named Best Burrito in California (by Yelp) and hope to continue making Californians and Long Beach proud!
